Regence Foundation Awards $20,000 to Patient Safety

June 24, 2011 -- The Regence Foundation announced that it has awarded a $20,000 grant to the Oregon Patient Safety Commission to develop a tool kit and implementation strategy to help hospitals alert Oregonians in the event that they have been harmed by a medical error. The grant is part of The Regence Foundation’s annual employee-nominated grant competition.

Shelley Buckingham Joins AARP Oregon

May 20, 2011 -- Shelley Buckingham has become director of communications and media relations at AARP Oregon. Having over 13 years’ experience with AARP, she’s held multiple positions with the association, including communications director for AARP’s Andrus Foundation, interim associate state director for communications for AARP Maryland, marketing manager for AARP Foundation and senior communications liaison for AARP’s Integrated Communications team.

Rhonda Busek joins PacificSource

April 7, 2011 -- After a 15-year career at Agate Resources and Lane Individual Practice Association, which provides healthcare services to Oregon Health Plan members and Medicare recipients, Rhonda Busek now works for PacificSource.

Before leaving, Busek had been vice president of government affairs. With its purchase of Clear One Health Plans based in Bend last year, PacificSource became an Oregon Health Plan contractor.
