The response to our fund-raising appeal has been fantastic after Northwest Health Foundation announced a $10,000 challenge grant
January 5, 2011 -- It’s gratifying to know so many people believe in The Lund Report. That became evident when Northwest Health Foundation offered us a $10,000 challenge grant.
Because of your generosity, we’re extremely close to reaching our goal. We only need another $1,250 to decline victory. With these dollars, we intend to hire a news reporter to cover the critical healthcare issues facing the 2011 Oregon Legislature.
When the legislature convenes on February 1, you’ll have a front row seat. By reading The Lund Report, you’ll learn how healthcare services could be impacted by an impending $3.5 billion shortfall, and keep updated on a health insurance exchange where consumers and small businesses can purchase insurance.
We’ll keep you informed about changes to the Oregon Health Plan, mental health and addictions and long-term care services, and let you know how lawmakers corral the impending shortage of primary care providers in Oregon. What’s more, you can respond by sharing your ideas and opinions.
As editor of The Lund Report, I do not draw a salary or receive other compensation. All of the funds we raise are spent on freelance reporters and to keep our website up and running. We feel fortunate to have a cadre of nine professional reporters who contribute to The Lund Report.
Since its inception in April 2009, The Lund Report has been a phenomenal success. Each week more than 10,000 people read our stories, and our numbers keep climbing.
I built The Lund Report on my passion to tell the truth, refusing to yield to corporate interests. Now the need for useful, accurate information is greater than ever. You can rely on us for quality journalism.
I’ve poured my heart into bringing you stories you won’t find elsewhere such as the profitability of Oregon’s health insurers and the growing access problems.
Thanks for believing in what I do. Everyone deserves to have access to the latest information about our complex and troubled healthcare system. That’s why The Lund Report doesn’t charge a subscription fee or accept advertisements. And, you can be assured – never will. Instead, I’ll continue to rely on the support of our readers.
