Tina Edlund Named Deputy Director of New Health Authority
I am pleased to announce that Tina Edlund has joined the Oregon Health Authority as Deputy Director for Planning and Policy Implementation. Tina is well-known in Oregon for her health policy expertise, health services research and excellent administrative skills.
As deputy director for the Oregon Health Authority, she will work closely with the new Oregon Health Policy Board in coordinating, implementing and integrating board policies and recommendations. In addition, she will work with me to help establish the new Oregon Health Authority.
Tina has worked in the health care field since 1994 and comes from the Oregon Office of Health Policy and Research (OHPR) where she worked as its deputy director for the past several years. In that role, she served as part of the management team for the Oregon Health Fund Board, established by the Oregon Legislature in 2007 to develop a comprehensive plan for health reform in the state.
Prior to joining OHPR, she held positions with Providence Health Systems and the Department of Public Health at OHSU. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in sociology and a master’s degree from Portland State University in urban affairs. Her new position was effective on July 14, 2009.
I can’t think of anybody better suited for this new role. Please join me in welcoming Tina in her new role as we begin our new and unique partnership with the Department of Human Services and the Oregon Health Authority.
