Shirtcliff Leads Medical Directors Group

February 11, 2010 -- Dr. Mike Shirtcliff, president and CEO of Advantage Dental Plan, has become the first dentist to chair a policy group that advises the state’s Medicaid division, known as the Oregon Health Plan Medical Directors, which meets monthly. 
 

“I suspect the doctors see me as their peer, and I guess I’ve earned their respect,” said Shirtcliff, who founded Advantage in 1995. Currently there are 135,000 OHP members and another 100,000 people insured with PacificSource who receive dental benefits from Advantage through a joint agreement.
