December 14, 2010 -- Scott Bond has been chosen as president and CEO of the Washington State Hospital Association by its board of trustees.

Bond spent more than 20 years with Providence Health & Services in progressive leadership roles. When he retired in 2009, Bond was chief executive of the Southwest Washington Service Area where he led the Olympia and Centralia hospital.

Bond also served as board chair of the hospital association in 2005, and has extensive experience chairing committees, advocating on behalf of hospitals before the state legislature and participating in special projects.

According to Cassie Sauer, vice president of the Washington State Hospital Association, Andrew Davidson, president and CEO of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, did not apply for the position. "I believe he is happy where he is," she said. The Lund Report regrets the error.
