August 4, 2010 -- Pam Mariea-Nason leaves CareOregon on Aug. 20 as director of health policy and community engagement. Her successor has not been chosen.

Since assuming this position four years ago, Mariea-Nason has been responsible for running CareOregon’s Medicaid program. Earlier, she spent 10 years as executive director of Tuality Health Alliance.

It’s important, she said, that CareOregon have time to establish new leadership before the 2011 legislature gets under way.

“Right now I’m taking some time out, and want nothing more than to spend time with my daughter who’ll be going into kindergarten this fall,” she said. “I want to spend some time being a mom, and feel blessed that I’m in the position to do this.”

In the future, Mariea-Nason intends to work with CareOregon on special projects.
