Labor Day Event: Small Business and Labor Leaders to Join Bonamici to Discuss Improving Work-Life Balance

August 28, 2013 — Is your family life suffering because of a demanding job?  Some local Companies are taking action to make sure their employees have a positive, work-life balance, and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) is supporting federal legislation to encourage more companies to implement paid sick leave, pay equity, alternative work schedules, health and wellness programs, and other policies to support a healthier, happier, and more productive workforce.

Just days before Labor Day, on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 8:00am, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) will recognize the efforts of local employers at a roundtable discussion on what can be done to expand work wellness programs and ensure equitable policies for all employees.  The event will occur at Ruby Receptionists 1331 NW Lovejoy St, Suite #875, in Portland, Oregon. Ruby Receptionists is consistently ranked as one of the best companies to work for in America.

Businesses and organizations represented at the roundtable include AFL-CIO Labor Council, CASA of Oregon, Climax Portable Machining and Welding Systems, Family Forward Oregon, Grand Central Baking Company, Ruby Receptionists, Vernier Software and Technology, Woodfold, Work Systems Inc, Edwards Center, Ride Connection, Swift Collective, and Tualatin Valley Water District.
