Hospital Association President Joins Doctors, Nurses for Haiti

Physicians and hospital executives are responding to the disaster in Haiti by volunteering their services

The team of physicians, nurses and a hospital administrator head to Haiti
January 20, 2010 -- On Wednesday morning, Andrew Davidson, president and CEO of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems flew to Port-au-Prince on a private jet supplied by TEC Equipment, Inc.
 
Davidson is considered an expert in health logistics and operations in diverse healthcare delivery settings. The Oregon hospital association and its counterpart in Washington state have made a commitment to raise more than $560,000 in cash and medicines to help Medical Teams International respond to this crisis.
 
Three physicians and two nurses joined Davidson on the flight. They include Dr. Marie Angele Theard with the Oregon Anesthesiology Group, Dr. Steve Boyer with Oregon Emergency Physicians and Dr. Bob Gibson, a Portland physician.

The team will work at the 350-bed Kings Hospital, just outside Port-au-Prince, and are part of the NW Hospital Partnership between all the hospitals in Oregon and Washington.
