Honzel and Worcester Chair Health Incentives Committee
February 11, 2010 -- Denise Honzel, a consultant for the Health Leadership Task Force, and John Worcester, manager of benefits and compensation for Oregon Steel Mills, have been chosen as co-chairs of the new Health Incentives and Outcomes Committee that will focus on payment reform and quality standards.
By April that task force is expected to recommend transparent payment methodologies and quality measures to the Oregon Health Policy Board.
Dr. Bart McMullan, retired president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield, will chair the payment reform committee and be joined by:
- Chris DeMars, program officer with Northwest Health Foundation
- David Dorr, professor of informatics at OHSU
- Stephanie Dreyfuss, president of provider services for Regence BCBS
- Megan Haase, family nurse practitioner at Mosaic Medical
- Steve Jasperson, administrator of Samaritan Health
- James Kahan, policy analyst
- Dr. David Labby, medical director at CareOregon
- Robert Marsalli, CEO of Klamath Health Partnership Inc.
- Morgan O’Toole, CEO of Kartini Clinic for Disordered Eating
- William Olson, CFO of Providence Health & Services
- Sujata Sanghvi, COO of PacificSource Health Plan
- Dr. Rick Wopat with Samaritan Health
Dr. Glenn Rodriguez, chief medical officer at Providence Health & Services, will chair the committee dealing with quality and efficiency measures. Its members include:
- Seth Bernstein, executive director of Accountable Behavioral Health Alliance
- Nancy Clarke, executive director of the Oregon Health Care Quality Corp.
- Laura Etherton, public interest advocate with OSPIRG
- Ken House, quality management director at Cascade Health Care Community
- Mary Minniti, director of quality at PeaceHealth Medical Group
- Jim Russell, mental health care administrator at Mid-Valley Behavioral Health Care Network
- Dr. Brett Sheppard, a general surgeon at OHSU
- Dr. Rachel Solotaroff, medical director at Central City Concern
- Dr. Thomas Syltebo with Northwest Permanente Physicians & Surgeons PC
- Joe Zaerr, a consumer advocate with the Archimedes Movement
