Gwen Dayton Leaves Hospital Association for OMA
January 5, 2010 -- The Oregon Medical Association today announced that Gwen Dayton, JD, recently of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, joined the OMA staff as General Counsel, effective January 1, 2010.
As General Counsel, Dayton will oversee the OMA’s successful loss prevention education and accreditation services programs, and will advise on regulatory and legislative matters, working in concert with OMA’s government affairs staff. She will also spearhead the organization’s efforts to assist members with understanding and complying with the emerging field of quality and patient safety measurements, and changes in the health care technology sector. Additionally, she will offer legal
counsel to OMA staff and volunteer leadership.
“We are thrilled to have Gwen join our team,” said Jo Bryson, CAE, OMA executive director. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enhance our current professional staff and help advance the mission of our organization.”
Dayton succeeds Paul Frisch, who served the OMA and its members as general counsel for 24 years. Mr. Frisch has left the OMA to pursue new ventures.
